About the Project

Branching Out: Girls in STEM is an initiative that aims to inspire and empower girls to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math. There is a significant lack of women in STEM careers today, and reaching girls early is essential to encouraging them to pursue these careers.

This project was created for a Girl Scout Gold Award, and involved creating a high school club for girls interested in engineering as well as running multiple outreach events for younger girls. If you are interested in joining the effort to get more women in STEM, check out the guide to the activities we have done and how to do them yourself.
